Research Notes on Hydralazine
Hydralazine is used to treat high blood pressure. It works by helping your blood vessels to widen, which allows blood to flow easier through arteries and veins.1 As a result of the blood vessels widening, your blood pressure lowers.1 Hydralazine is also prescribed for congestive heart failure.2
Fast Facts:
- Side effects of hydralazine include headache, upset stomach, loss of appetite, and constipation.1
- Seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, swollen feet, and fainting while taking hydralazine.2
- You should not take hydralazine if you have coronary artery disease.2
