The Human Genome Project was an international scientific research project with a goal of determining the sequence of chemical pairs which make up DNA, and to identify the thousands of genes that make up the building blocks of human life. The project took thirteen years coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health.
