Research Notes on Howie Mandel and ADHD

Although recently diagnosed with ADHD, Howie Mandel suspected he had the disorder for years prior to confirming his suspicions.1 As a child, Mandel often had problems paying attention and sitting still in class, symptoms that carried over to both extracurricular activities and homework assignments.1 His high school days were full of impulsive and inappropriate behaviors, so much so that he was eventually expelled from school.1 He continued to experience such behavioral patterns as an adult, finally speaking to his physician who confirmed that the long cycle of feelings and impulses may have been a result of his ADHD.1
