Most of the time insect bites and insect stings only cause mild irritation and swelling. Most bite and stings are not serious. Some who have allergies to insects may develop hives and life-threatening reactions.1
Fast Facts:
- Applying a cold pack can help with the pain and swelling.2
- Taking an antihistamine or applying a cream can help reduce itching.3
- With tick bites remove the tick with a pair of tweezers so the whole tick is removed.4
