Avoiding the flu requires direct action and preventive measures.1 Covering the mouth and nose during coughing and sneezing is a common preventive strategy.1 Frequent washing of hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitizers are direct actions to avoid the flu.1 Avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth to prevent germ transmission.1

- Use disinfectant wipes on shopping cart handles, computer keyboards, and computer mice.3
