Research Notes on Hormone Headache
Estrogen and progesterone levels drop before and during menstruation. Hormonal imbalance causes headache in many women. Some factors that disrupt the hormonal balance are the use of birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy. Doctors usually recommend NSAIDs, which should be taken two to three days before the menstruation starts, and continued until the period ends.
