Research Notes on Home Health Care
Home health care is supportive care provided in a patient's home by healthcare professionals. Home health care strives to make it possible for people to remain at home rather than residential, long-term, or institutional care facilities. Home health care is generally paid for by health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, or with the patient's personal resources.

- Can include medication teaching, pain management, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and more.
- May be informal with families and friends providing a significant amount of care.
- Help with activities of daily living (ADL) is often included.
