Research Notes on High Cholesterol
High cholesterol in the bloodstream greatly affects the risk of developing heart disease. Various factors affect high cholesterol levels such as diet, weight, physical activity, age and heredity. High cholesterol does not cause specific symptoms so it is important to get levels checked at least every five years. High cholesterol is treated with medications if lifestyle changes are not sufficient. 1
