Research Notes on High Blood Pressure and Genetics
Researchers have identified certain genes that can put a person at a much higher risk of developing high blood pressure. To assess the risk of high blood pressure, a genetic test can be done to check for variations of these genes. These tests can help a patient make lifestyle changes in an effort to prevent or lessen the effects of high blood pressure.1
