Some herbs that raise serotonin levels include oatstraw, burdock, dandelion, ginseng, and black cohosh. Another herb that can help raise serotonin levels is wild yam. Cannabis has also been shown to raise serotonin levels significantly.1

- Foods that can help to raise serotonin levels include barley, oats, buckwheat, sweet potatoes and squash.4
- Psychiatrists say that eating healthy foods such as fish and poultry, whole grains and fruits and vegetables, while significantly decreasing sugars and simple carbohydrates is important to our mental health.
