Research Notes on Hepatopulmonary Syndrome
Hepatopulmonary syndrome is a group of symptoms such as shortness of breath and low oxygen levels in the blood of the arteries. This is caused by the broadening of the blood vessels in the lungs of patients with liver disease. Dyspnea and hypoxemia are worse in the upright position.1
