Inactivity is one of the major risk factors of heart disease. A regular exercise regimen helps improve heart health and may even reverse some risks factors of heart disease. There are a number of effects of exercise that benefit the heart, such as improved circulation, improved cholesterol levels, reduction of inflammation of the arteries and helping maintain a healthy weight.1
