Research Notes on Heart Disease and Diet
The risk of heart disease (also called cardiovascular disease) can be reduced through diet. A healthy diet can also decrease the risk of heart disease-causing conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and obesity. It is recommended that people use the food pyramid as a guide for choosing a healthy diet.1
