Vegetables are very beneficial to the body. They contain the richest sources of vitamins and minerals. People whose diets which are rich in vegetables are much less likely to develop heart disease, cancers and high blood pressure. The 5 subgroups of vegetables are the dark green, orange, dry bean, starchy, and other vegetables. Weekly consumption from each of these categories is recommended.
