Research Notes on Healthy Grains
Whole grains are beneficial in a variety of ways-from helping to prevent diseases such as cancer to heart disease to assisting with weight control by lowering the glycemic index and giving a feeling of fullness. Whole grains are rich in complex carbohydrates, the main source of fuel for our bodies. The U.S.D.A. recommends that everyone should eat at least three servings per day of whole grains.
