Research Notes on Health Insurance System UK

The United Kingdom has adopted the social health insurance system. This is where all or much of the population is a member of a sickness insurance company. The services for patient care are billed to the government, provided by private enterprises which contract with the government. The majority of countries that use a social health insurance system also allow a parallel private system to operate. This is sometimes known as two-tier health care.
