Walking at a moderate pace for 30 minutes a day can decrease the risk of heart disease in women by up to 40%.1 In addition, walking has also been shown to combat depression, help prevent osteoporosis, help control and prevent diabetes, improve circulation, help breathing, and even give a boost to the immune system.1 Many incorporate walking into an exercise routine to help lose and maintain weight.1

- Walking can lower the risk of colon cancer, high blood pressure, and stroke.2
- It is important to start a walking program slowly and build up your pace. Speak to your physician if you have any concerns about current health problems and beginning an exercise program.
