Head and neck cancers are cancers that develop in the mouth, throat, lymph nodes, sinuses, nose, salivary glands and the throat.1 Head and neck cancers make up about 5% of all cancers in the United States with about 60,000 cases diagnosed each year.2 Treatment options include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.3

Fast Facts:

  • 85% of head and neck cancers are linked to tobacco and alcohol use.1
  • Symptoms include a sore in the area, difficulty swallowing, trouble breathing or speaking, persistent blocked nose or nose bleeds, difficulty hearing and pain in the face or upper jaw.4
  • Head and neck cancers are uncommon in those under age 50.5
