The hamstrings are 3 muscles located at the back of the thigh that flex and extend the knee. Injury to these muscles may come in three forms: a contusion, strain, or tear.1 It commonly occurs during heavy exercise or sports training, with fast and twisting motions. Proper treatment and therapy is very important to rehabilitate the muscles and regain its full function.2
