Research Notes on Guide Dogs
Guide dogs are also known as seeing eye dogs. They are trained to lead the visually impaired and blind. Guide dogs (as well as hearing dogs and service dogs) are exempt from regulations against the presence of animals in public places. Golden Retrievers, German Shepherd Dogs and Labradors are the most common breeds used.
