Research Notes on Gross Motor Development
Gross motor development is the development of the large muscle groups and whole body movement. This includes skills such as crawling, sitting, walking, running, climbing, etc. Infants develop gross motor control before they develop they develop fine motor skills. By the age of two, most children are able to stand up, walk and run, and walk up stairs.
