Research Notes on Gonorrhea
The CDC estimates that more than 700,000 people in the U.S. get new gonorrheal infections each year. An infected mother may transmit gonorrhea to her newborn during vaginal childbirth. A person who is infected with gonorrhea is always contagious until he or she has been treated.
