Glatiramer Acetate is a artificial protein drug used it the treatment of Relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. This medication does not cure multiple sclerosis, but can possibly decrease the frequency between relapses. Glatiramer acetate is well tolerated and flu like symptoms are not caused by it like those that occur when using interferon beta medications.1 Glatiramer acetate is not approved to treat any other forms of MS.
