Ginseng and Diabetes

This WisdomCard managed by: Nicole Kinsey

Ginseng is used to stimulate the adrenal glands, and to increase energy. It may also have some beneficial effects in reducing blood sugar in patients with diabetes mellitus. Ginseng also causes hypoglycemic activity; caution should be exercised in using ginseng products by patients with diabetes because of the possible interaction with oral hypoglycemic agents and insulin.
