Galantamine is a drug used in the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease. It is marketed by Janssen Pharmaceutica which is a division of Johnson & Johnson. It increases the amount of a certain natural substance in the brain to improve memory loss and thought. Galantamine was accidently discovered in the 1950s in Bulgaria.
