Research Notes on Flu Shot
The flu shot is recommended by the CDC for the prevention of the influenza virus. Influenza viruses mutate and change frequently, which is why flu shots are given annually. Flu shots are recommended for those most at risk for developing serious complications as a result of an influenza infection, especially people over the age of 65 and those with chronic medical conditions and impaired immune systems.
