Research Notes on Florence Henderson
Florence Henderson is an American Actress, and spokesperson. Her most memorable role is no doubt the role of America's favorite "Mom," Carol Brady on TV’s sitcom "The Brady Bunch". She became spokesperson for "Wesson" brand cooking oil, and worked as a producer on the Nashville Network’s "Country Kitchen". This show inspired her to author her book "A Little Cooking, A Little Talking and A Whole Lot of Fun." In the mid-1950s, she began to notice a loss of hearing. The situation progressed almost to the point of deafness before she was discovered to have otosclerosis, a hereditary condition. It was corrected through surgery. Since then she has had a long association with the House Ear Institute. Her humanitarian efforts also include 20 years as a national co-host of the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon and fundraising for the City of Hope, among others.
