Research Notes on Flat Belly Diet
The Flat Belly Diet was created by Prevention magazine's editor in chief Liz Vaccariello and nutrition editor Cynthia Sass. The diet is based on eating 1,600 calories per day and focuses on increased consumption of food with monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA). MUFA is believed to help people lose weight by delaying return of hunger. Foods that contain MUFA include olive oil, sunflower oil, flaxseed oil, avocados, nuts and seeds.
