Fibromyalgia is a condition that is characterized by widespread muscle pain and and multiple tender points. Polymyaliga (polymyalgia rheumatica) is generally associated with moderate to severe pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulder, and hip areas. Polymyalgia, unlike fibromyalgia, is associated with inflammation.1
