Some early studies have shown that some medicinal herbs and natural supplements can be useful in treating the symptoms of fibromyalgia. 5-HTP may help to increase deep sleep and reduce pain. Melatonin is also sometimes useful for decreasing insomnia and improving sleep patterns. Melatonin has also been reportedly used by some fibromyalgia patients to help reduce pain.1

Depression and tender points were decreased in patients who used SAMe according to one small study.2
Vitamin B-12 may also be useful for patients with fibromyalgia, as many fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome patients appear to be deficienty in this vitamin.2
