Whether fibromyalgia is a factual or fictional illness has been debated for many years. However, a recent brain scan study has found abnormalities of blood flow in the brain, proving that fibromyalgia is real.1 The study also shows that the severity of fibromyalgia symptoms was dependent on the severity in blood flow abnormalities. These findings may help the health community better understand and treat fibromyalgia.2
