Research Notes on Fetal Development
Prenatal development is the development of an embryo and fetus inside a woman's womb. This development usually takes 40 weeks from the time of conception until birth.
Fast Facts:
- There are three trimesters, each lasting 13-14 weeks.
- The fetus is considered full term at 37 weeks.
- The risk of miscarriage drops significantly after the 1st trimester (or 12th week)
