Research Notes on Farrah Fawcett Hospitalized

Actress Farrah Fawcett has recently been admitted to an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital for the treatment of abdominal bleeding and a hematoma that occurred as a result of recent treatments in her fight against colorectal cancer.1 Sources report that these medical complications are a result of recent alternative cancer treatments in Germany where Fawcett has undergone stem cell transplantation in an effort to become cancer-free.2 Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006.1

Fast Facts:

  • In February 2007, Fawcett announced that her cancer was in remission, only to have the deadly disease return within a few short months.1
  • Physicians and family friends deny that Fawcett is nearing the end of her battle with cancer, saying the current complications are a result of treatment, not of the actual disease.3
