Research Notes on Failure to Thrive Diagnosis
Physicians may make a diagnosis of failure to thrive by evaluating a child's status on growth charts, obtaining a medical history, and possibly after reviewing blood and urine testing. The physician may also ask for a complete calorie intake report to determine whether a child is receiving enough daily calories.1
