Sleep Disorders 101: Alcohol and Sleep

Is it ever okay to use alcohol as a nightcap?

Answered by:

Michael Breus, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist and Author of Beauty Sleep

Alcohol will help you fall asleep, but it will interrupt the quality of your sleep. Instead of using alcohol as a nightcap, try some herbal tea and a warm bath.
