Research Notes on Ezetimibe
Ezetimibe is a drug used to lower cholesterol levels by decreasing the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine. Ezetimibe is sold under the brand names Zetia and Ezetrol. It is marketed under the brand name Vytorin when it is combined with simvastatin.1

- Medications such as cyclosporine and gemfibrozil may have negative interactions.2
- Common side effects include headache and diarrhea.
- Can be used with or without statin medications.1
