Research Notes on Eyes
The eyes are complex organs composed of many small parts, each vital to normal vision. They are the organs that detect light. The eyes and brain work together to allow us to see.1
Fast Facts:
- The human eye is about as big as a ping-pong ball.2
- Eyelids, eyelashes and tears are used to protect the eye.1
- Stabilization of eye movement is accomplished by six extraocular muscles that attach to each eyeball.1
