Research Notes on Emphysema Signs and Symptoms
Emphysema is a chronic pulmonary disease that damages the air sacs in the lungs. It is usually manifested by pursed lip breathing, dyspnea, coughing, wheezing, excessive mucus production, and barrel-like chest. It can also produce fatigue, loss of appetite and weight loss. Smoking is the most common cause of emphysema.
