Research Notes on Emotions
Emotions are feelings. Some of the basic emotions that we feel are love, joy, surprise, anger, sadness, and fear. Emotions motivate us. They can make us feel comfortable or uncomfortable.1 They are associated with mood, temperament, personality, and disposition. Emotions can cause our bodies to change.2
Fast Facts:
- Emotions can affect your health. This is called the mind/body connection.3
- During a health crisis such as cancer your emotions can affect your the way you feel about your body and can cause fear.4
- Some of the other emotions are lust, anxiety, depression, shame, hatred, greed, and compassion.5
