Emesis is also known as the act of vomiting and its also part of poison management by inducing vomiting after ingestion of poisonous substance. They may be given an emetic medication such as ipecac syrup to remove the toxic substance by vomiting. If poisoning occurs it is very important to call your local poison control center for proper assistance and seek immediate medical attention.
