Research Notes on Elavil Side Effects
As with any medication, there is a chance of experiencing side effects when taking Elavil. Blurred vision, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, trouble sleeping, and change in sexual desire or ability are some of the most common side effects.1 Potentially serious side effects of Elavil may include chest pain, sudden or severe numbness, confusion, problems with speech or balance, hallucinations, seizures, fainting, tremor, muscle weakness, easy bruising, fast, pounding, or uneven heart rate, urinating less than usual, or restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck.2
