Research Notes on Effects of High Cholesterol
Having high cholesterol for a long period of time can lead to a condition called atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis makes the arteries harden and become narrow. This can lead to angina, coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, heart attack, stroke, or peripheral artery disease. High cholesterol can be treated by diet or cholesterol-lowering medications.1
