Ed McMahon, former Tonight Show sidekick of Johnny Carson, passed away on June 23, 2009. A publicist for McMahon has not released the cause of death, but stated that McMahon had been suffering from a multitude of health problems, including bone cancer. McMahon was 86 at the time of his death.1

- McMahon suffered from a broken neck after falling in 2007.2
- He hosted Ed McMahon's Star Search from 1983 to 1995.2
