Research Notes on Dofetilide
Dofetilide is an antiarrhythmic drug that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the maintenance of sinus rhythm in those prone to the formation of atrial fibbrillation. It is sold under the brand name Tikosyn in capsule form.1 It can cause the heart to beat irregularly.2

- Headache, back pain and diarrhea are common side effects.3
- Discuss the consumption of grapefruit and other fruit juices with your doctor while taking dofetilide.4
- A hospital stay the first three days of use is recommended so that proper monitoring and support are available.5
