The Discovery Health Channel has been a leader in providing health-related programing for over 8 years. It is affiliated with the Discovery Channel. In January 2008 an announcement was made about the coming end of Discovery Health, allowing for a new network called The Oprah Winfrey Network, or OWN, to begin in 2009.
