Research Notes on Diprivan
Diprivan is a brand name for the drug propofol. It is a prescription medication only used during surgery, tests, and other medical procedures to begin or help maintain anesthesia medications.1 For more information, see the propofol WisdomCard.
Fast Facts:
- Diprivan should be used with caution in patients with a history of epilepsy, pancreatitis, high lipid levels in the blood, and in those who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.1
- Some common side effects associated with the use of Diprivan include mood swings, dizziness, and drowsiness.1
- Diprivan is not for use in children under the age of three.1
- Do not drink alcohol while taking Diprivan, as it may increase the risk of certain side effects.1
