The Framingham Heart Study showed that high cholesterol levels were a major contributing factor to heart disease.1 Making a few lifestyle changes can not only save your life, it can help you shed some pounds.2 Don't wait until you are fifty to start taking your cholesterol and weight seriously.3
Fast Facts:
- Cholesterol is produced by the liver and carries out important functions in the body. It gets around by lipoproteins.
- High density lipoprotein is the good kind. Low density lipoprotein is bad, as it turns to plaque and clogs up arteries.4
- Fat content in a food tells you nothing of its cholesterol. Organ meats like liver are very low in fat but high in cholesterol.5
- Do not use a fad diet.
