Research Notes on Diagnostic Imaging


Diagnostic imaging is the use of techniques and processes to create images of the human body (or parts) for clinical purposes to reveal, diagnose or examine disease.1 A variety of machines and techniques are used to create pictures of the structures and activities inside your body. For some imaging tests, a tiny camera attached to a long, thin tube called a scope, is inserted in your body.2
