Research Notes on Diabetes Insipidus Treatment
Diabetes insipidus treatment depends on the type that you have. Central diabetes insipidus treatment may include hormones and increased water intake. Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus treatment may include hydrochlorothiazide alone or along with other medications.1
Fast Facts:
- Diabetes insipidus is not related to type 1 or type 2 diabetes.2
- Diabetes insipidus is related to the insufficient production of the antidiuretic hormone. These hormones help the kidneys and body conserve the correct amount of water.3
