With the number of obese people on the rise in the United States, it should be no surprise that the number of people suffering from diabetes has jumped by more than 3 million over a span of 2 years. According to a report released by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention approximately 6 million Americans are unaware that they have diabetes. These figures indicate that nearly 8 percent of the U.S. population is suffering from diabetes.
